To creatively promote membership in the Council among those who, in accordance with Article III, Section 1 of the By-laws, meet the requirements of membership
To provide the Board of Directors with proposals to promote membership in the Council
To receive and forward to the Treasurer all membership dues that are received at times other than the Conference
To assure that the names of those who join the Council during times other than the Conference are included in the Membership list at the Conference
To work with the Publicity Committee in promoting attendance at the Conference
To provide a roster of all current members to the Notebook Chair for inclusion in the Conference Notebook
At the Conference:
Assure that the membership cards are signed by the President for distribution to the membership
Provide the membership cards to the On-Site Registration Chair for distribution to the membership
Provide the Official Council Lapel Pins to the On-Site Registration Chair for distribution to first time members
Provide additional Council Lapel Pins to the On-Site Registration Chair for sale to the Membership at the cost of $10.00 (or as determined by the Board of Directors) and make an accurate accounting to the Treasurer
Pre-Registration:
Accept and receipt early conference registration
Compile directory of names of pre-registrants and provide to Notebook Chair to be included in the conference notebook.
Prepare nametags
Secure necessary ribbons for nametags
Provide Council Treasurer with a complete and accurate accounting of moneys collected on a weekly basis
Provide Conference Coordinator with number of pre-registrants
On-Site:
Secure typewriter or computer for use in preparing nametags for on-site registrants (if this is to be rented, notify Conference Coordinator by way of an equipment list)
Divide Registration Area into two sections, Pre-Registration and On-Site Registration
Have receipts and ribbons attached to nametags
Secure items for “goody bags” (contact local merchants)
Provide Council Treasurer with a complete and accurate accounting of moneys collected daily
Provide Conference Coordinator with number of On-Site registrants daily
Membership and Conference Requirements:
Presenters who do not stay for the conference do not pay membership fees nor do they pay the registration fee. Presenters who choose to participate in the Conference as an active member will be required to pay the full membership fee and registration fee.
Sponsors are not required to obtain memberships and are afforded 3 complimentary registrations
Speakers are exempt from paying the membership and registration fees unless otherwise designated by the Board of Directors
There is not a sliding scale for registration if attendees only attend a portion of the conference
On site registration costs $5.00 more than pre-registration (telephone call confirmations do not pre-empt paying late registration)
Severe hardship cases can be considered for refunds if made within a reasonable timeframe (1-2 weeks prior to the conference) unless otherwise directed by the Board of Directors. Requests should be made to the NCCSC Board of Directors who will direct the request to the Board Members for consideration. Refunds will be completed approximately two weeks after the conclusion of the conference.
