Charity Functions/Raffle Committee

Responsibilities:

 

  • To identify potential charitable programs in need of assistance.
  • To make proposals and presentations to the Board as to which charitable programs should be considered for support
  • To cooperate with the Publicity Chair, Newsletter Chair, and other pertinent chairs in promoting appropriate functions to raise funds for Council expenses, Bob McGuire Scholarship Fund and other charitable programs as directed by the Board.
  • To be the Council Liaison with the charitable organization chosen by the Board. To coordinate all activities in conjunction with the fund raising efforts for the charitable organization
  • To collect, tabulate, and properly account for all monies raised, all expenses paid, and all profits to be forwarded to the charitable organization for which the funds were raised to the Treasurer of the Council. The Treasurer will distribute said funds.
  • The NCCSC Roy Godwin Invitational Golf Tournament is an annual event facilitated by this committee as a component of the Bob McGuire Scholarship Fund. The responsibilities for this committee include:
  • Determine a site for the tournament. Things to consider include desirability of location, access, accommodations, and charge for the facility.
  • Determine a date for the tournament.
  • Make recommendations to the Board of Directors concerning a date and place.
  • Distribute the application. Application should include type of format, player fees, dress, etc.
  • Secure trophies and certificates of appreciation.
  • Design and distribute a flyer to solicit donations and sponsorships.
  • Solicit businesses to secure door prizes and free gifts to give to the players.
  • Make necessary arrangements to feed the participants.
  • Have a sign company create signs to post the names of the sponsors at different locations around the golf holes. Make photographs of each sponsor at each site to send to them along with a “thank you” card/letter.
